Peach crisp is an awesome mid-summer dessert when peaches are in season. I’m not a fantastic baker– too much precision is involved. I love to drift away from recipes, which usually ends in less than favourable results in baking.  My go-to dessert is a crisp.  They are pretty fool-proof and allow for that element of experimentation that I love about cooking.  I also making crisps seasonal, using the fruits and flavours of what every fruit is in season. Simple Portobello Mushroom Burger

Summer barbeque season is in full swing and one of my favourite quick and easy veggie burgers is the oh so simple portobello mushroom burger.  Portobello mushrooms have hearty texture and mild in flavour.  They absorb flavours, such as marinade and stand up well to grilling.

Brownie Pancakes

I love those weekends when we have time to kick back as a family and have a proper relaxing Saturday morning.  Without the hustle and bustle of getting everything ready I usually make pancakes, a household favourite.  This recipe is gluten free, dairy free, egg free and full of chocolatey goodness.  So much so, that I call them Brownie Pancakes. These clean pancakes, do take more than a few minutes to ‘whip together’, and may require you to explore new gluten-free flour options but isn’t it worth it to eat brownies for breakfast, guilt free?
